December 2019 Unboxing – Defying the Odds

I was SOOOO excited for the OwlCrate books selection this month! The Guinevere Deception has been on my TBR for several months now and the OwlCrate special edition is lovely! It has silver foil-y details on the cover and there’s super cool embossing on the book itself. The box this month also included a book slipcover with a quote from A Sorcery of Thorns. I think it’s really well designed, though it’s not a product that I see myself using often.

OwlCrate included a mini-coloring book featuring all the bookish pin designs from 2019 AND colored pencils that have book hashtags on them. Observe, my coloring skills!

This month was all about the cozy, wintery items and I LOVE IT. On the left is a pair of earmuffs with a rose design from the Caraval series. The item on the right is a reusable handwarmer with a quote from Sky in the Deep. These are two of my favorite things in the box and the handwarmer is really cool – it has a little metal thing inside and when you push on it, it snaps and the energy triggers a chemical reaction. You reset it by floating it in a pot of hot water for a bit until it gets liquidy again.

Candles are consistently one of the BEST items to get in a book box in my opinion. This one smells like cinnamon and has a wood wick. The pin design this month is pretty cool and is inspired by The Guinevere Deception. I’ll be honest, OwlCrate has the best pins out of all the boxes I’ve tried!
