Synopsis:
After selling her soul to become Queen of the Wicked, Emilia travels to the Seven Circles with the enigmatic Prince of Wrath, where she’s introduced to a seductive world of vice.

She vows to do whatever it takes to avenge her beloved sister, Vittoria… even if that means accepting the hand of the Prince of Pride, the king of demons.

The first rule in the court of the Wicked? Trust no one. With back-stabbing princes, luxurious palaces, mysterious party invitations, and conflicting clues about who really killed her twin, Emilia finds herself more alone than ever before. Can she even trust Wrath, her one-time ally in the mortal world… or is he keeping dangerous secrets about his true nature?

Emilia will be tested in every way as she seeks a series of magical objects that will unlock the clues of her past and the answers she craves…

One sister.
Two sinful princes.
Infinite deception with a side of revenge… Welcome to Hell.

I was pretty into Kingdom of the Wicked and immediately picked up the sequel once I finished. I had high hopes for this one, as it was marketed as New Adult (romance heavy) and things seemed to be going well with the characters. They hadn’t yet fallen unto the same unending bad decision trend. YET.

Emelia agreed to marry the devil and is now making her journey to his palace, but first she must traverse the Sin Corridor where she will be tempted by all the vices. Except it’s really just making her have crazy ass mood swings where she hates Wrath and soon after wants to ravish him. So ,anyway whatever. She gets to Wrath’s palace finds a whole lovely suite to herself full of Dark, sexy bejeweled gowns and jewels and crowns and starts acting like a total bitch. She wants to go to Pride and get her marriage over with, but without an invitation she can’t because it’s dangerous. And she hates that she wants Wrath. And she can’t find her sister’s murdered if she’s stuck with Wrath. *insert crying sound here *

To be fair, Wrath is entirely uncommunicative and keeps a ton of Secrets from Emelia. She wouldn’t be nearly so reckless if he’d just drop some useful tidbits of information. I find that too often these romance-centric books just lack proper, responsible levels of communication which I think is a crappy plot device. “Oooo, I am Cursed to not be able to reveal anything to you”. Big deal! You know how many subtle ways there are around things like that?? Leave mysterious notes. Have someone else answer questions. One blink = yes, two blinks = no. Geez!

There were many parts of this book that were interesting,  but the characters become more annoying than alluring.  I’ll probably check oit the next book because at this point I’m invested in finding out what’s going on. But I think Emelia and Wrath are both idiots.
