Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Reading Reality and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course audiobooks and ebooks!
Received for Review:
The Tyranny of Faith by Richard Swan
I’ve cut way down on requests of physical ARCs and finished copies since I read most effectively on my Kindle nowadays, so this is my singular physical “Received for Review” book. A review will be forthcoming in the next week – it was great! Thanks to Orbit for the finished copy. It’s been added to my shelf of favorites!

Gothikana by Runyx
I got sucked in by the pretty cover and “fantasy romance”. I also binge read this almost immediately and should have a review up soon!
A Witch’s Guide to Fake Dating a Demon by Sarah Hawley
Another fun fantasy romance that I picked up just to go ahead and read it in like, two sittings. I mean, a witch who’s terrible at summoning accidentally summons a demon and it really only gets more fun from there.
Engines of Chaos by R.S. Ford
I am crazy excited to check out this sequel! I loved the first book, with all the politics, airships, and mysterious magic users.
The Cage of Dark Hours by Marina Lostetter
I’m not sure if this will continue with the murder mystery theme, but the synopsis implies that Krona will be confronting higher powers and venturing outside of the city. I look forward to further world-building!
The Sword Defiant by Gareth Hanrahan
OMG IT’S GOT A CURSED SWORD! A story about aged heroes, some of which have turned to the dark side. The author’s previous series was unforgettable, dark, and weird and I thought it was great. Hoping for much the same vibe with this new series!
Thief Liar Lady by D.L. Soria
I just featured this on my Can’t Wait Wednesday post and was approved for an eARC the same day! This is a Cinderella re-telling where she and her evil stepsisters were allied to secure a stable future for their family by any means necessary.
Thanks to Orbit, Tor Books, Del Rey Books, Berkley Publishing, and Solaris for the eARCs!
My Purchases:
My subscription box purchases have been rolling in steadily over the last month with more on the way soon! Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries and The Last Tale of the Flower Bride were from Fairyloot’s December and January boxes, respectively. The Luminaries by Susan Dennnard is from my long awaited and delayed November Illumicrate box. Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson arrived just two days ago and I am absolutely thrilled with the quality and production of this book! Last but not least, The Goblin Emperor by Katherine Addison was from The Broken Binding’s December box.

I’ve picked up several audiobooks and ebooks since my last Stacking the Shelves post – lots of good books came out and lots of good Kindle Daily deals happened in the last month! I picked up audiobooks of A Fire Endless, Hell Bent, and Mickey7 and ebooks of The Traitor Baru Cormorant, Guards! Guards!, and Queen of Myth and Monsters.

Wow, amazing haul! I can’t stop staring at those beautiful painted edges😁
