Can’t Wait Wednesday: Saevus Corax Deals with the Dead by K.J. Parker

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings to share upcoming book releases that we’re excited about! This meme is based on Waiting on Wednesday, which was created and hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

I’ve enjoyed K.J. Parker’s most recent trilogy, starting with Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City, so naturally I was excited to see he has a new series coming out later this year. Saevus Corax Deals with the Dead has a vague synopsis that leaves much to the imagination, but I am nonetheless intrigued! This will be out October 3, 2023.

There’s no formal training for battlefield salvage. You just have to pick things up as you go along. Swords, armor, arrows – and the bodies, of course.

Over the years, Saevus Corax has picked up a lot of things. Some of them have made him decent money, others have brought nothing but trouble. But it’s a living, and somebody has to deal with the dead.

Something else that Saevus has buried is his past. Unfortunately, he didn’t quite succeed.
