Stacking the Shelves: 2/1/25

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Reading Reality and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course audiobooks and ebooks!

Received for Review:

Arcana Academy by Elise Kova
I didn’t need to know much about this book before requesting it because Elise Kova has firmly become a favorite author of mine. The premise of magical tarot cards, fake engagements, and arcane academies is definitely something I’m sure I’ll enjoy though!

The Gate of the Feral Gods by Matt Dinniman
After a short break from the world of Dungeon Crawler Carl, I’m ready to jump back into the fourth installment!

The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst
More cozy romantasy from Sarah Beth Durst, set in the same world as The Spellshop, which I adored. This follows Caz’s creator when she suddenly awakens on an island full of magical greenhouses.

Advocate by Daniel M. Ford
I really just can’t get enough of the main character, Aelis and all the magic in this world. This time Aelis is turning toward a bit of detective work to hopefully clear her mentor’s name after he was charged with murder.

Many thanks to Del Rey, Ace, and Tor Books for the eARCs!

My Purchases:

I’ve always wanted hardcovers of the Malazan Book of the Fallen series, which many years ago cemented itself as one of my favorite fantasy series of all time. While Subterranean Press made gorgeous editions (and finally reprinted them) they were more expensive than I was willing to pay ($200 per book!!). Fortunately for me, The Broken Binding is now producing special editions! These are really gorgeous, with brand new cover art and stunning art on both the hardcovers and the end papers.
