Stacking the Shelves: 3/8/25

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Reading Reality and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course audiobooks and ebooks!

Received for Review:

The Medusa Protocol by Rob Hart
I really couldn’t say no to the unexpected sequel to Assassin’s Anonymous, which made my Best Books of 2024 list. I expect this will be bloody and fun!

The Butcher’s Masquerade by Matt Dinniman
I continue on with the fifth book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series. The crawlers are now entering the Hunting Grounds, where loot is better but the dangers are plentiful.

Strange New World by Vivian Shaw
I am SO excited for another full length novel set in the Greta Helsing world! This is one of my favorite ongoing series – who doesn’t love a good doctor for monsters, a bit of a romance plotline and a whole host of unusual mysteries?

The Deathless One by Emma Hamm
This is one of my more highly anticipated romantasy book releases of 2025. I mean, I kind of got sucked in by the lovely cover, but then stayed for that fabulous synopsis.

A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping by Sangu Mandanna
I am sooo ready for another book from this author! This is a cozy, witchy romantasy where the main character runs an enchanted inn and recruits a magical historian to help her find a spell to restore her recently missing powers.

Hemlock & Silver by T. Kingfisher
A dark reimagining of Snow White? Yes! T. Kingfisher never fails to deliver and I can’t wait to check this out!

The Executioner’s Three by Susan Dennard
After loving the Luminaries trilogy, I’m officially a Susan Dennard fan and I can’t wait to check out the first book in her newest series. This is a YA mystery with a supernatural twist and it sounds GREAT!

Once Was Willem by M.R. Carey
Past me surprised future me by requesting a physical ARC of this recent release! It’s quite a short book, but M.R. Carey is such a broadly talented storyteller that I’m sure a ton of good stuff will be packed into the short page count.

Thanks to Berkley, Orbit, Tor Books, Tor Teen, Ace, G.P. Putnam’s Sons, and Gallery Books for the ARCs!

  1. This is a little weird, because I have none of these on my spring lists and… well, I thought we were more in-sync. It’s unsettling. Well… I guess I’ll just add some of these to my TBR then, shall I? 😉

  2. I’m just finishing up Once Was Willem today. I’m loving it. There’s a lot of set up and it’s slower paced, but Carey is so talented. The Medusa Protocol is one of my most anticipated books!
