The Wisdom of Crowds by Joe AbercrombieOH WOW. I picked this up over the weekend, read about 20 pages before bed and then decided it was a task better left for the next day. This book is going to be dark and I can't wait! I'm also finishing up Angel Killer by Andrew Mayne this... Continue Reading →
The Atlas Six by Olivie BlakeAmazon keeps sticking this in my recommendations and I have to admit... that cover is really appealing. It's cool, minimalist occult symbols and dark color scheme are fabulous. It's also about a society of magical scholars who hold the keys to vast knowledge. What's not to like?? Angel Killer by... The Tempered Steel of Antiquity Grey by Shawn SpeakmanThis is a really cool story about a girl who finds a mech in the desert, wakes it up, and causes planetary turmoil. This was purely a cover request but it's actually a really cool YA story. A Dance with the Fae Prince by Elise KovaI have... Continue Reading →
Shards of the Earth by Adrian TchaikovskyI've been looking forward to getting a copy of this for months! Now that I've got my copy in hand, I can start reading (yay for physical books!). The Forever King by Ben GalleyI am SO glad I picked this up on a whim. It's an absolutely fantastic epic fantasy and the narration is on point. The Godstone by Violette MalanSince August (and thus the release date of this) is rapidly approaching, I figured I'd better pick this up! The Pariah by Anthony RyanThe start of a shiny new fantasy trilogy!! I won't attempt my own synopsis here - I think the original will serve well enough - but I am very, very excited to have something awesome to read while I'm on vacation this week! Song of the Forever Rains by E.J. MellowI've... Continue Reading →
The Justice in Revenge by Ryan Van LoanThis may honestly be the series that comes closest to filling the Locke Lamora shaped hole in my heart. Swashbuckling, cunning, and now politics in a city that sounds like Venice?? I have hopes this will be at least as good as the first book, though the few... Continue Reading →
What We Devour by Linsey MillerI'm always on the lookout for the next fantastic YA SFF book and this one sounded far too cool to resist. A girl containing the power of two banished gods makes a deal with the crown prince to save her father. Also, there might be some world saving involved. The... Continue Reading →
The Empire's Ruin by Brian StaveleyNew book, more Kettral, and... a monk turned con-artist!? I am super excited to start reading this - I'm hopeful that it will be as good (if not better!) than the original trilogy. The Wonder Engine by T. KingfisherI haven't been great at actually finishing the books I've put on... Continue Reading →
