Cephrael's Hand by Melissa McPhail At his very moment I have mixed feelings about this book. I can see that it has great potential but I'm having trouble concentrating on the story, though this might only be because I need something really boring to do while I listen to it so I can dedicate my... Reign of Madness by Kel Kade I am unashamedly addicted to this series and I've been squeezing in reading time at all possible opportunities. Kel Kade knows how to hook an audience and and write characters that you want to be BFF's with in real life because they're that frikkin' awesome. As I write this post,... Continue Reading →
At the moment I'm still finishing up The Fell Sword by Miles Cameron, but will be starting a couple new books this week: Roses and Rot by Kat Howard I've been looking forward to reading this for a few months and now that I finally have time to enjoy it, I'm going to dig in. It's... Continue Reading →
The Fell Sword by Miles Cameron Perfect time of the year to sit down and read a massive, Medieval fantasy novel. I enjoyed The Red Knight, but found it to be somewhat slow, which was unusual for me since I read pretty quickly. I've seen lots of great reviews of this and let's be honest,... Continue Reading →
Hounded by Kevin Hearne (The Iron Druid Chronicles #1) I picked this up during a recent Audible sale because I've been curious about the books for awhile. So far I think it's entertaining and I can see why everyone says it's for fans of Harry Dresden. There are similarities, though I think I like Harry... Continue Reading →
Beyond the Shadows by Brent Weeks These books get better and better. While I wasn't crazy about the first installment, I've really grown to love this series. The plot is far more interesting now that Kylar's coming of age type story is over with and there's some serious meat and mystery to the plot. I've... Continue Reading →
Shadow's Edge by Brent Weeks I'm still trucking through this series and I have to say that, despite the narrator, I enjoy the story! Kylar and Elene really frustrate me at times because they can't seem to communicate or understand one another. It seems they just look at one another and go "YOU'RE SO BEAUTIFUL... Continue Reading →
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks I started the audio version last week and will hopefully finish in the next few days. I like it- assassin books are almost always great- but I don't love it as much as The Black Prism. Maybe my opinion will change as the book/series goes along. It's dark... Continue Reading →
It's going to be a busy week!! With an extra day to read due to the holiday weekend, I'm hoping to get 3 books finished up by the end of the week. Will it happen?? I HOPE SO! In addition to the two books featured below, I'm trying to finish up A City Dreaming by... Continue Reading →
And this week's reads are.... The Road by Cormac McCarthy This book's so bloody depressing! And the dialogue! It's bland and repetitive for sure, but it also manages to punch you right in the feels. I watched part of the movie years ago and it's sad and dark and unfortunately I also remember the ending,... Continue Reading →
