Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where bloggers feature a book that we just can’t wait to get our hands on!

I admit to being drawn in by the beautiful cover and snazzy (if formulaic) title presented here. The synopsis was enough to make me want to pre-order this (or at least creep around NetGalley for a copy). The synopsis promises assassins, steampunk, Italy, and scriptology – or the science of creating worlds through the use of a particular pen and book… SOLD. This pretty little package will be available February 20, 2018!

**Note** I just discovered Gwendolyn Clare’s author bio and *eek* THIS GAL KNOWS HER SCIENCE!!!! I’m somewhat envious of her Ph.D in mycology.
