I admit wholeheartedly that I was drawn to this book because of the cover. It’s absolutely stunning, of course, but then I read the synopsis. Assassins in the French court!? YES! Interestingly, Courting Darkness is going to be the start of a sister series to LaFevers’s His Fair Assassin series, set in the same world. I haven’t heard of this author previously, but very excited to check this out when it’s released in February 2019!

Yeah I’ve never read this author either, and don’t know anything about His Fair Assassin, but if this “sister series” can be read without any prerequisites, I might check it out too.
