Stacking the Shelves: 5/27/23

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Reading Reality and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course audiobooks and ebooks!

Received for Review:

Traitor of Redwinter by Ed McDonald
This is a highly anticipated sequel for me and I adore the cover art! If you’d like to see what I thought of the first book, you can check out my review of Daughter of Redwinter and see why I gave it 5 stars!

The Witches of Bone Hill by Ava Morgyn
I happily snagged an eARC when they were freely available on Netgalley a week or so ago. This is a story of sisterhood, family secrets, and possibly romance with a handsome tattooed groundskeeper!

Dark Water Daughter by H.M. Long
Hannah Long knows how to do social media promotion because once I started following her, I immediately added this book to my TBR! I am SO excited to read this before it’s July release date!

Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands by Heather Fawcett
My first 2024 eARC has arrived! I was completely swept off my feet by the charming romance and excellent plot in the first book and have high expectations for the sequel.

Thanks to Tor Books, St. Martin’s Griffin, Titan Books, and Del Rey for the eARCs!

My Purchases:

Loads of subscription box books and preorders arrived at my doorstep this past month! The Bone Ships and Call of the Bone Ships are the April and May selections from The Broken Binding subscription. The House Witch was a pre-order from Fox & Wit, a company that does subscription boxes and single purchase special editions. The quality is lovely and I would definitely order from them again! I was also lucky enough to have already received Secret Project #2, which is fantastic quality and has tons of illustrations throughout. Next up is Fourth Wing, which I could no longer resist thanks to the hype and glowing reviews from Tammy and Jordyn. I now have my first T.J. Klune book from Fairyloot – this edition of In the Lives of Puppets is beautiful. And lastly, we have my very last Illumicrate subscription book, Some Desperate Glory, which sounds like a cool sci-fi warrior story!

It’s been a hectic week, so I didn’t take the time to do all the nice individual pictures of the special editions I usually do, but I think this shows off all the important stuff! The sprayed edges and hardcover foiling are two of my very favorite features on any special edition book and the ones in this batch are pretty awesome. I can’t wait to see The Tide Child trilogy together after I receive the last book in June, as they are quite spectacular!

I was absolutely blowing through audiobooks for a while and picked up Murder of Crows, Vision in Silver, Marked in Flesh, Echo North, and Ascension. I also picked up the ebook of Small Miracles by Olivia Atwater, which was the SPFBO 8 winner!

  1. I’m so jealous of the traitor of redwinter! I requested it a month back and have been checking everyday lol. And I really need to get into the Anne Bishop series, yet. Hope you enjoyed the cruise!!
