Yumi and the Nightmare Painter by Brandon Sanderson
Obviously I had to start reading this right away! The title alone is enough to draw me in and I really love the cover for this one as well. I’ve shockingly already got a shipping notification for my hardcopy, which I suspect will be here by early next week.
Lies Sleeping by Ben Aaronovitch
I needed a palate cleanser between the first and second Red Rising arcs, so instead of actually listening to Iron Gold like I had planned, I began listening to Lies Sleeping. I’ve missed this world and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith’s narration.
After I finish up Lies Sleeping, I’ll return to the world of Red Rising in hopes of completing my re-read before Light Bringer comes out on the 25th. I suspect I’ll make good time with my audiobooks, as I’ve been listening while I play Disney Dreamlight Valley. It’s a fun game with appealing cosmetics, but it definitely has some bugs and performance issues on the Switch – lots of visual and audio lag, it crashes occasionally, and I had a quest that bugged out. It’s also still in beta mode and will be free to play once it’s fully released, which I didn’t realize before purchasing it… that’s on me for not doing my research! I should mention that there’s quite a lot of cosmetic items that you have to pay for and they aren’t cheap, which is not surprising considering it’s Disney but the prices are… premium for a game with numerous performance issues and (currently) only a single player mode.

My hardcopy of Yumi should be arriving any day now, I was so excited to get the shopping notification. Can’t wait to read it!
