Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post first created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s theme focuses on books that brought out strong emotions – the good, the bad, and the ugly!

- Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt – This book was legitimately terrifying. Definitely one of the scariest horror novels I’ve read.
- The House Witch by Delemhach – Such pure and utter delight!
- Kingdoms of Death by Christopher Ruocchio – This book… wow. It’s the utter, hopeless shattering of a man and the feeling of desolation it gave was unparalleled.
- House of Flame and Shadow by Sarah J. Maas – I haven’t felt this much excitement for a book in YEARS! It also left me with some of the most conflicted feelings I’ve had about a book in years.
- The Book of Doors by Gareth Brown – This book made me cry and left me with a surprising feeling of sadness thanks to some very moving flashback scenes that left me reflecting on how I might handle such a situation.

- The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst – This was so heartwarming and it just filled me with happiness!
- Capturing the Devil by Kerri Maniscalco – It is rare that I feel such annoyance at a book and all the characters, but almost every single Kerri Maniscalco book evokes that feeling. I’ve learned my lesson and stopped reading them after two whole series…
- The Fury by Alex Michaelides – Bafflement is a rare feeling for a book to elicit, but that’s exactly what I felt by the end of this.
- A Brightness Long Ago by Guy Gavriel Kay – Every book by GGK makes me feel a weird longing for a place I’ve never been that has also never existed. There’s probably a word in German for this exact feeling.
- Farilane by Michael J. Sullivan – Total heartbreak. The ending of this left me a wreck.

I need to read The Book of Door asap!

You’ve reminded me I need to read The Book of Doors, and I want to read it even more because it made you feel emotional😁

Yeah, I expected to find Farilane on here… Haven’t read the rest, but ‘complete annoyance’ doesn’t necessarily make me want to read absolutely ALL of them 😂 just maybe the other 8 😉
