Stacking the Shelves: 7/6/24

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Reading Reality and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course audiobooks and ebooks!

Received for Review:

Dirty Lying Wolves by Sabrina Blackburry
This is the third in a series of standalone fantasy romances that I just can’t get enough of. They’re so fun even if they aren’t peak literature!

An Academy for Liars by Alexis Henderson
This has a secret magic college! I will be reading this as soon as I can get ahead on my ARCs!

This Will be Fun by E.B. Asher
“Cozy quest romantasy”. This is about a group of former heroes reuniting at a royal wedding who end up having to save the world one more time. I just love the sound of it!!

This Girl’s A Killer by Emma C. Wells
I don’t usually go for books about serial killers, but the cover and synopsis for this book were too appealing to resist. It’s about a woman who basically moonlights as a vigilante killer of monstrous men.

The Scholar and the Last Faerie Door by H.G. Parry
A historical fantasy that has fae, a magical academy, and terrible accidents. Everything about it makes it appealing to me!

My Purchases:

I’ve gotten several really beautiful books since my last post! First up, my pre-order of the FairyLoot edition of Emily Wilde’s Map of the Otherlands finally arrived. Next, I received The Honey Witch by Sydney J. Shields which was the FairyLoot adult subscription book for May 2024. I also received the Broken Binding editions of Red Seas Under Red Skies and The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch. I’ve always wanted hardcovers of these, as this is one my favorite fantasy series!

All the pretty foiled hardcovers.

  1. Love the FairyLoot Emily Wilde, especially the design on the book. I will probably end up requesting This Girl’s a Killer, and This Will Be Fun sounds like, well, fun😁

  2. Ooooo fancy Lynch books!! I’d probably like to get hardcovers as well, but I get annoyed whenever I hear his name lately, so… probably best to skip it for now 😅 This is a pretty tame StS, Rebecca—high five!!
