Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Fantasy Books with Delicious Foods

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post first created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s theme is all about books featuring delectable fantasy feasts and mouthwatering morsels. I love when a book goes hard on the food descriptions!

  • The House Witch by Delemhach – the main character is a chef and has magic that makes even the simplest of dishes taste divine. I love the dedication to describing food throughout the series!
  • The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst – Kiela is trying to make a new life for herself and what better way than making jams for the local bakery?
  • Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Mansicalco – I may not have loved this series, but I did love the descriptions of the Italian food! The main character’s family owns a restaurant, so this comes up quite a lot, especially in the first book.
  • Redwall by Brian Jacques – I think many of us fondly remember all the feast scenes throughout the Redwall books. Enough to make a kid hungry!
  • The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh – One of the few redeeming features of this book were the food descriptions. This is set in New Orleans and a fancy restaurant called Jacques’ is quite important to the plot.
