It’s been a cold week, perfect for reading and getting a head start on my Christmas baking plans. I decided to do a re-read of The Will of the Many before jumping into The Strength of the Few. I read a summary, realized I didn’t remember that much (even after the summary) and decided that this would be prudent. I’m 40% of the way in and glad I decided to do a re-read because I forgot how much I loved this book!
I’m also still listening to Shadows Upon Time, which has really grabbed my attention now that I’ve settled back into the story. This is a VERY long book and I have 25 hours left, so I will probably be listening to this for at least another week.
And speaking of Christmas baking… I made a batch of Cherry Coconut Oatmeal cookies which were a surprise hit last year (adapted from Sally’s Baking Addiction Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Raisin cookies). Just as delicious as I remembered. I like to make a batch of dough, bake a few for taste testing purposes, and scoop and freeze the rest of the dough for baking closer to Christmas day.

I’m planning my Christmas baking too! I’m thinking of a holiday-themed cake and cutout cookies. I have some recipes to try from Sally’s Baking Addiction bookmarked.
