Lots of repeats from last week, but I did finally finish The League of Lost Souls which was pretty fun. It's not out until spring 2027, so I'm not sure if I'll go ahead and post a review soon or wait until closer to the release date. After that I read Threshing Day in less... Continue Reading →

I felt like very little reading was done this week, but I have two new books on my list! I'm still reading The League of Lost Souls by KJ Parker, which I've made little progress on in favor of gaming. I also picked up Angel Down, which I've been very curious about and since I'm... I snagged a copy of The League of Lost Souls by K.J. Charles on NetGalley, and as my review load is non-existent I decided to go ahead and start reading! It's good so far, though I'm still in the early parts of the book. I also finished up The Infinite State by Richard Swan, which... Continue Reading →

Shockingly there is no fantasy in my reading this week! I'm about halfway through Scion by James Islington, which is very different than any of his previous work. I'm also working my way through The Infinite State by Richard Swan, and it just proves that he can write brilliantly in any genre. I also decided... Continue Reading →

I finally finished up The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova after about two weeks. I enjoyed it overall, particularly the different locations and historical references. I decided to pick up an audiobook that was purely fun after listening to a couple murder mysteries that I felt like I was slogging through. I randomly chose The Wolf... Continue Reading →

I'm free of ARC obligations and have been reading a couple books that caught my eye awhile back. The Historian is a chunky book about a family haunted by the legend of Dracula. The story is told through the recitation of stories, letters, and the view point of the Historian's daughter and though it's taking... Continue Reading →

It's been a busy week of reading! I read The Thief and the Traitor Bride by V.L. Bovalino, which I enjoyed. I also read the novella A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L. Peck. It was a strange story and at just over 100 pages, it didn't take long to get through. Thanks to... Continue Reading →

I finished up the last two Emma M. Lion books this week and am eagerly awaiting news of Volume 9, which is supposed to release sometime this year. This series has been such a joy! I'll be putting together a series review of Volumes 1- 8 in the next couple weeks, so keep an eye... Continue Reading →

I decided to re-read Ninth House before the release of Dead Beat since it's been years(!) between installments. I had forgotten how much I like the book. I also completely abandoned all attempts at a reading August review books while I was off work this week and read the first 6 of The Unselected Journals... Continue Reading →

Last week I decided to pick up a couple backlist titles. Spiderlight is a shorter fantasy story following a group of heroes trying to defeat a dark lord. Along the way they acquire a spider-turned-humanoid as a companion. I'm also nearly finished listening to Rose in Chains, which is the first book in a new... Continue Reading →
