Book Reviews + More
Gunmetal Gods by Zamil AkhtarI succumbed to the algorithm and decided to check out Gunmetal Gods since Amazon kept recommending it to me. The reviews are pretty excellent and though I'm only a short way in, I think it has a ton of potential! I'm still catching up on books from last week, so I'm... Continue Reading →
The Girl Beneath the Sea by Andrew MayneI've been wanting to pick up this series for awhile and since I use Kindle Unlimited, I could get the ebook and audiobook for free! Yay! I'm almost finished with this (about 2 hours left) and it's been a quite action packed! Killers of a Certain Age by... Continue Reading →
A Duel With the Vampire Lord by Elise KovaI'll be reading this as soon as it comes out on the 18th!! I'm so excited for this (I LOVE the vampire-lit renaissance) and the previous two books in the series were so well done. Servant of the Underworld by Aliette de BodardThis is the first book... Babel by R.F. KuangIT'S TIME!!!! The early reviews are fantastic, so I really hope I love it as much as so many others have. Farilane by Michael J. SullivanI decided to go ahead and pick up the audiobook version of this since I enjoy Tim Gerard Reynolds' narration of these books so much. It was... Continue Reading →
High Times in the Low Parliament by Kelly RobsonThis sounds like a fun little novella that I can easily read in one or two sittings. The reviews are all over the place, so I'm tempering expectations but I think it'll be interesting. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy by Megan BannenI am sooo looking forward... Continue Reading →
Wild is the Witch by Rachel GriffinGetting a jump start on all those August releases I requested (WHY DO I DO THIS??) It sounds like a really fun, quick read perfect for binging in a few afternoons!! The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra BrackenI didn't exactly realize this was middle grade when I... Continue Reading →
I have soooo not had much luck with books this month! I've DNF'd two books, one of which was one of my most anticipated releases of 2022 and the other just couldn't hold my interest. I'm having better luck with my current read of the week, which I'm already 40% through. Hopefully this slump/reading funk... Continue Reading →
The First Binding by R.R. VirdiThis is possibly one of the most exciting releases of the year and I couldn't wait to read it any longer! I threw all my other scheduled reads to the side in favor of checking this out. I'm only about 100 pages in (out of 832) so I'm still getting... Continue Reading →
The Book of Gothel by Mary McMyneSo, I'm 40% (ish) into this and it's good, but kinda sad. Also, the prologue totally threw me off! Paladin's Grace by T. KingfisherNow this I am totally loving. It's hilarious! A perfumer, a spy, and an ex-paladin are investigating an assassination attempt.
Upgrade by Blake CrouchI'm always down for a new thriller from Blake Crouch. They're always strange and a little disturbing, however rather than time travel we have a human with a hacked genome this time around. Second Hand Curses by Drew HayesI've really been plodding so slowly through audiobooks lately, but I'm expecting to finish... Continue Reading →
