Book Reviews + More
Age of Legend by Michael J. Sullivan I'm pushing back some other books in my TBR so I can read this RIGHT NOW! Where will this book take us after the shocking events in Age of War? I don't know (well, I have a vague idea) but I can't wait to find out. ... Continue Reading →
Inspection by Josh Malerman I've been sooo curious about this book and can't wait to dive in. I'm seeing lots of 3 and 4 star reviews for this book (and several 1 and 2 stars), so I'm trying to lower my expectations just a smidge. I don't want to be TOO disappointed, you know?
Sixteen Ways to Defend a Walled City by K.J. Parker I requested this book because I liked the title and I have no regrets. I'm only 50 pages in as I type this but I can already tell I'm going to love this book! The main character Orhan just clicked with me and judging from... Continue Reading →
The Food Explorer by Daniel Stone What can I say? I like food and this was in the Audible 2 for 1 sale so I picked it up. I'm trying to broaden my reading selection this year and this definitely fits that criteria and sounds like one of the more interesting non-fiction biography type books... Continue Reading →
The Naturalist by Andrew Mayne This book series came highly recommended from some fellow bloggers so I decided to check out the first book. It sounds like an excellent blend of science, suspense, and mystery. This should be a prime way to break up all the fantasy I've been reading lately. Kellanved's... Continue Reading →
A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine I've been greatly looking forward to the beginning of this new sci-fi series. I've read little of it as of this moment, but the characters and world building already have me intrigued. I think this is a book that, once you're passed the initial learning curve, will be... Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence I've decided that I can't wait any longer to read this. I've had a copy hanging around for a few weeks and well, I just can't wait for the release date to get any closer! I expect this will be a thrilling conclusion to the Book of the Ancestor trilogy.
The Beast's Heart by Leife Shallcross This is a lovely story that I'm finding to be quite enjoyable thus far. I admit I snagged this book solely because it is a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I didn't care what early review said, I only wanted a light fairy tale read.
Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie I've really been enjoying this series and didn't want to put off the last book any longer so here we are. I expect this will be an epic conclusion to an epic trilogy! The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie This will be my first... Continue Reading →
The Wolf in the Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky What little bit I've read of this so far has been different, but in a good way. I've never read a book, let alone a fantasy book about the Inuit and the story seems like it will be engaging in the long run.
