The Oddling Prince by Nancy Springer
I just started this book and my initial thought was “they just don’t write fantasy like this anymore”. The writing style is somewhat more ‘formal’ than most fantasy tends towards now, but I like it. Hopefully the story will be a good one!

Knee-Deep in Grit: Two Bloody Years of Grimdark Fiction
This is a book that I’ll be reading over the next few weeks since it’s an anthology. This is a collection of the fiction featured in GrimDark Magazine in it’s first two years of publication. I was pretty excited when Adrian Collins sent this over because it features many authors I love and many more that I want to read in the future!

Have you read anything else by Springer? I saw on the cover that she wrote a book called “I am Mordred”. That made me wonder about even trying her stuff…

When I followed the GoodReads link to learn more about “The Oddling Prince”, the beginning of the first sentence “”In the ancient moors of Scotland”” was more than enough to convince me this is a book I want to read… 😀
