“Waiting On Wednesday” is a weekly meme originally hosted on Breaking the Spine but has since linked up with “Can’t Wait Wednesday” at Wishful Endings now that the original creator is unable to host it anymore. This is a great way to share upcoming released you’re excited about!

I’ve never read a Sam Sykes book, but now is probably a good opportunity, right? Seven Blades in Black is his newest forthcoming work and it sounds AMAZING. The main character is one of the most powerful mages and she walks into the wastes, with only weaponry and a list of names belonging to (I’m assuming) those she wants to kill. I admit I’m not a huge fan of the cover, mostly because it looks like a random dude’s face was cut and pasted on, but it’s not a big deal. The book sounds so good that the cover could just have no design whatsoever and I still might buy it. This is scheduled for an early 2019 release date at the moment.

I’m sorry but I saw this cover on Instagram and I thought it was a joke….oops. It’s really awful. BUT I do like the sound of the story.😁

😂😂 It is truly one of the worst covers I’ve seen in awhile and what makes it even worse is that it’s from a major publisher and a fairly popular author… I hope the story makes up for that!

Unless the story is supposed to be comedy! I’ll bet they change the cover before pub date😁

We can hope, but that’s what Orbit showed in their cover reveal 😅

Sam Sykes is hilarious. I look forward to reading more of his stuff! And what’s interesting, I only just found out he’s the son of Diana Gabaldon

Hey Mogsy, have you read any more of his books? I really liked ‘The City Stained Red’ but was super disappointed by the second book in the trilogy (‘The Mortal Tally’).. I haven’t read the last one yet because of that. 😦 In case you have – is it getting better again?
The cover of his new book is indeed kinda weird 😀 But it does sound interesting. If the character is not constantly whinging, I will consider reading it.

I read the city stained red too, and was not really blown away either. The one book I really loved by him though, was his recent Pathfinder Tales book. Go figure! But it was hilarious!

that cover is so strange. I saw it on Twitter – it kind of looks unfinished. Still, the book sounds great and as I haven’t read this author yet it could be a great starting point.
