Stacking the Shelves: 5/2/20

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly (or in my case monthly) meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and it’s all about sharing the books you’ve added to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. You can include books you buy in a physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts, and of course ebooks!

Received for Review:

Physical books have been sorely lacking lately due to COVID, but I’ve gotten several eARCs I’m really excited for! Tor Books hooked me up with three books I’ve featured as Waiting on Wednesday posts!

By Force Alone by Lavie Tidhar
A scathing interpretation of King Arthur’s story. I can’t help but to think of Monty Python and the Holy Grail when I read the synopsis.

The Angel of the Crows by Katherine Addison
Angels, vampires, werewolves, and Jack the Ripper stalk the London streets. The synopsis just sounds SOOO appealing and I adored The Goblin Emperor, so this was an auto request.

Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott
If Alexander the Great were a girl in space, this might be how things went. Tor has been saving up all the amazing titles for this summer apparently!

Redhook was lovely enough to approve me for A Declaration of the Rights of Magicians by H.G. Parry. Hidden enemies, Robespierre is a necromancer, and Toussaint L’Ouverture is a weather mage. This just has so many  appealing little goodies!

Purchased Books:

I haven’t picked up many books lately either, especially with my TBR piling up the way it is, but I have to stay flush with audiobooks to make it through! My latest picks were The Last Emperox by John Scalzi and Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio, which is a re-read.
