Subscription Box Review: OwlCrate – November 2020

Basic Box Info

This box only has two options – Owlcrate, which caters to fans of Young Adult books and Owlcrate Jr, which caters to Middle Grade readers.

Boxes are shipped between the 15th and 20th of each month. Shipping is available worldwide, with the exceptions of Mexico and Peru. The FAQ said that delivery was proving to be unreliable in these countries, though if a more reliable shipping service is available service may resume in the future.

November 2020: Growing Wild

This more than made up for the “meh” feelings I had toward the October box! November seems to always be a fantastic month and includes some really special items.

The book featured this month is Among the Beasts & Briars by Ashley Poston, a tale about a girl who must face down a cursed wood. It sounds perfect for animal lovers since most of her sidekicks seem to be forest creatures! I must say, I do prefer this cover rather than the standard edition with a white background.

Sticking with the woodland theme we have a lovely sticker pack and the yearly reading journal! This reading journal is actual more desert plant-life oriented but is quite pretty. I am IN LOVE WITH THESE STICKERS. I will now horde them forever because I can’t commit to actually sticking them on stuff.

The bear and flowers pin is super cute – it looks like he has a little floral eye-patch! The necklace is a glass bauble with encased dandelion fluffs.

This mysterious item on the left really is super neat, but it’s not the right season for it to be useful. It’s a flower press!!!! I really do want to try this when spring and summer arrive and see if I can press any of my flowers. The art pieces on the right are Lord of the Rings inspired botanical post cards. I need to find a use for these aside from being large and unwieldy bookmarks. Maybe I’ll take up scrapbooking.
