Synopsis:
It is an ordinary Thursday, and things should finally be returning to normal.
Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club are concerned. A local news legend is on the hunt for a sensational headline, and soon the gang are hot on the trail of two murders, ten years apart.
To make matters worse, a new nemesis pays Elizabeth a visit, presenting her with a deadly mission: kill or be killed…
While Elizabeth grapples with her conscience (and a gun), the gang and their unlikely new friends (including TV stars, money launderers and ex-KGB colonels) unravel a new mystery. But can they catch the culprit and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again?
The Bullet That Missed is the third installment in the much beloved Thursday Murder Club series and let me tell you, it didn’t miss. Our favorite gang of retirees is now investigating the death of an up and coming young journalist who was investigating a money laundering case. Their latest case brings them in contact with all sorts of well known faces, which Joyce is mighty excited about. Whilst this is all going on, Elizabeth once again is being haunted by her past. A mysterious figure kidnaps her and tells her she must kill an old acquaintance who happens to be ex-KGB otherwise he’ll kill Joyce.
This book has an abundance of action despite the fact that most of the characters are geriatric, though it’s not usually the fist fights and guns blazing type. It’s more that there’s always something going on, whether with Chris and Donna, the Thursday Murder Club members, or Bogdan, or some combination thereof. No slow days here! Quite frankly, I never can guess what’s going to happen next and I love the unpredictable nature of these stories. They are by turns serious and hilarious, dealing with subjects as tough as declining health or loneliness but then you have elderly ladies fainting at a gameshow for nefarious purposes. I love the continued development of minor characters like Donna, Bogdan, and Chris because it adds so many layers to the story as well. You end up caring about every character that gets introduced.
The Bullet That Missed was another wonderful installment to a series that has quickly become a favorite of mine. I’m once again looking forward to the next installment. Also, if you’re an audiobook fan, I’d highly recommend the audio format for this series.

I need to start this series, it sounds like a blast😁
