If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio
I love a good dark academia fantasy, but I haven’t read many of the most recommended non-fantasy dark academia books. I decided to change that and ordered a bunch of must-reads and If We Were Villains is the first in what I’ve dubbed the Dark Academia Read-A-Thon!
I’m also planning to finish up the audiobook of The Daughters’ War by Christopher Buehlman this week. Not sure what I’ll pick up next – perhaps I’ll finish up the War of Lost Hearts trilogy by Carissa Broadbent. I’m slowly making my way through Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi as well. I’m enjoying it, but it’s a slow paced political fantasy and I’m not feeling a need to rush through just to be finished.

I love the idea of a Dark Academia read-a-thon, and am curious to see what you think about If We Were Villains. It’s one that I keep thinking I should try after I enjoyed The Secret History so much.

I am ready for fall weather and if I can’t have that, I’m at least going to have something that gives me the atmosphere 😂 perfect time for a dark academia read-a-thon!
