Advocate by Daniel M. Ford
I’m looking forward to returning to this series, especially with such a drastic change of setting in store for the third book. This installment brings Aelis back to her home city where she must clear her advisor’s name of murder.

The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson
I’m not sure my reading this week will be productive enough to also begin The Raven Scholar, but I’m feeling optimistic! This is another book I’ve really been looking forward to and it also happens to have a mystery component.

I’m really trying to get a jump start on the few April ARCs I acquired since baby is due in just under a month and I expect I’ll have my hands full adjusting to that! Either way, the days are longer and starting to get warmer (yay!) and I’m enjoying the small things in life like the flowers and plants blooming/budding and birds returning for the spring. I’m still slogging my way through The Fury of the Gods as well, which is entertaining enough but isn’t keeping my interest for long periods of time.

  1. Maybe you will get a nice sleepy baby and be able to read loads. I’m fairly sure that I managed to read quite a lot when my son was tiny as he was quite placid and slept when he was supposed to. Hopefully you’ll get going on Raven Scholar before too long as it’s brilliant.

  2. I dunno what it is about the new Gwynne series. I loved the first one, but the second one just felt like a huge slog and… well, the third one seems to as well. I hope you have a good week!!

    1. Gwynne’s books in general have been in the 3.5/4 star range (after some reflection). The current series has by far been my favorite, but The Fury of the Gods has felt like a drag.

  3. Oh, I didn’t know you are pregnant! Trust me you will have your hands full haha mine is 5 months old I know!!

I also have so many ARCs let’s hope we get through them. Happy reading and don’t worry if you don’t have a productive reading week it’s OK not to have it 🙂

    1. I’ve really tried to curtail my ARC requests, and have done fairly well 😅 at least the ones I have should be quick, fun reads for the most part! It’s so exciting to know I will have my little reading buddy here in such a short amount of time ☺️

      1. Fingers crossed, they will be fun to read! As for the little human you are expecting, there is no bigger happiness than this one! I wish you all to go smoothly and fast if you are doing a natural delivery. Happy reading, and the best is yet to come with your reading buddy 🙂

  4. I really enjoyed the first book in The Warden series, but just never got around to reading book two! I’ll have to try and make that a priority this year. I hope you enjoy The Raven Scholar, the mystery elements were so well done 🙂
