Top Ten Tuesday: Book I Wish I Could Read for the First Time Again

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly themed post first created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010 and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s theme is about those books you wish you could experience for the first time all over again.

  • Golden Son by Pierce Brown – this whole book had so many gasp inducing moments, particularly the ending.
  • A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas – ACOMAF remains my favorite of Sarah J. Maas’s books and I just love the whole introduction to the Night Court and the development of Feyre and Rhysand’s relationship.
  • The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett – I totally loved the worldbuilding and the mystery!
  • The House Witch by Delemhach – this book is just so cozy and fun, plus there are some downright hilarious moments I would love to re-live for the first time again.
  • Swordheart by T. Kingfisher – this was my very first T. Kingfisher book and I just remember it being such a delight.
  • The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss – though I truly never expect this series to be finished, I would love the simple joy of reading this book and falling in love with the world all over again. This was one of the first adult fantasy books I remember reading.
  • The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson – Ah, to go back to the Cosmere before it got so complicated! The highs in this book were just great – Kaladin rising above his station, the Knights Radiant, etc.
  • Hex by Thomas Olde Heuvelt – I would read this again simply because it was probably the scariest book I ever read and it would be cool to experience fresh all over again.
  • Demon in White by Christopher Ruocchio – this is the point in Suneater where the story REALLY took off and I knew it would be something incredible.
  • The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch – oh, to experience the worldbuilding and the highs and lows all over again. This is one of my all time favorite books.

  1. There are some fantastic books on this list. I definitely agree about The Way of Kings. I loved that but I’m losing the will to live with regard to the last book.

  2. The only problem with experiencing Locke Lamora and Name of the Wind again is I’ll be reminded that the series’ will probably never be complete—and then I’ll be sad again…
